19th Century Seated Guan Yu

This is an odd item - purchased in Southeast India in the early 1970s, the statue measures 30"H x 14" x 12"D. Although purchased in India, it appears to depict the Chinese/Taiwanese Deity Guan Gong/Guan Yu - the God of Wealth. It is very old, at least mid 19th Century. There is a secret compartment in the back.
