Two scaled dragons pursue each other across a crimson field amid cloud-bands and peony sprays, classic Tibetan dragon-phoenix design vocabulary. The accompanying bird departs from the usual phoenix template seen in comparable pieces — its form and plumage are distinctly its own rather than the standard stylized convention. Cut-pile wool with crisp contour outlining throughout. 35 x 73 inches.
