Fifty Shots at History Ansco Memo Half-Frame Camera, American, c.1927 Introduced in Binghamton, New York in 1927, the Ansco Memo was among the earliest American 35mm cameras. Its leather-covered wooden body houses a half-frame format (18×23mm), yielding 50 exposures per proprietary spring-loaded daylight cartridge on standard motion-picture film. This example is fitted with an Ilex-Ansco Velstigmat f/6.3 lens. Shutter speeds marked 25, 50, 100, T, and B. Original frame counter dial and tubular viewfinder present and intact. Lens elements clear.
